We proudly sponsored the 62nd Yilgarn Agricultural Show at Southern Cross Oval on the weekend.
The Yilgarn Agricultural Show is an annual event that aims to bring the farming, mining and other local communities together, offering a range of activities and entertainment for families and people of all ages.
The 2019 event had a focus on road safety and positive mental health initiatives, with support and involvement from the local police, ambulance and fire brigade, and a jaws-of-life display.
Members of MRL’s Health and Wellbeing team hosted a stall on the day with our mental health ambassador, mixed martial arts champion Soa ‘the hulk’ Palelei, joining us.

Our team enjoyed engaging with the local community on the activities and employment opportunities available in the region, while Soa was on hand to share his experiences in overcoming some of life’s challenges.
Soa also encouraged any willing participants to take him on in a friendly but fierce tug-of-war challenge to raise funds for the local Royal Flying Doctor Service. In this test of strength, the MRL team came second only to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES).

After the sun went down, the spectacular Mineral Resources Fireworks Display marked the end of the Yilgarn Agricultural Show for another year.
