Mineral Resources celebrating” Are you OK?” Day

R U OK? Day is the national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone to ask your colleagues, family and friends: “Are you OK?” and remember to support people who may be struggling with their mental health.

Every day is an opportunity to reach out to someone and start a conversation about mental health.

We’re spreading the word in rural WA to help spark important conversations about mental health with our bright yellow road train trailers, rail wagons and rail hut carrying R U OK?’s message, “There’s more to say after R U OK?”

This campaign is aimed at helping people learn what to do if someone says they’re not OK. These big, bright signs are already sparking important conversations about mental health on site.

To celebrate R U OK? Day, we held a range of activities where our people could get together and connect with one another, including barbeques, morning and afternoon teas, and games nights on site. Our metro areas had a visit from Delish Ice, offering a range of artisan icy poles for a tasty treat. We also held team presentations focussed on mental health, including how to recognise some of the warning signs that someone may not be OK and what to do about it.

This year, we also released some very special videos, which feature our Psychologist and Head of Mental Health, Chris Harris and a few of our key team members at Koolyanobbing, to help put a spotlight on mental health. You can view the videos on our YouTube channel, here.
