We have established a carbon fibre manufacturing facility with the core focus of developing automated carbon fibre manufacturing equipment specifically designed to produce structural components for the mining services industry.
The initial focus has been on dump truck trays and rail wagons targeting ultra-efficient payload technology.
A prototype of the 150T dump truck tray was completed in FY18. A testing programme has now commenced with real-world onsite tests underway.
Should the onsite tests be successful, the short to medium term returns are considered to be substantial, a 10%+ payload increase is expected on a 150 tonne dump truck fitted with an MRL carbon fibre tray.
