On WA Day, we were delighted to support 14 year-old, Scott Guerini on his 11th “Great Walk for Telethon” for a second year in a row.

Scott completed the gruelling 42.19 kilometre (km) walk down Koolyanobbing road in support of Telethon and the vital work they do for the treatment of life threatening illnesses that affect children.
Some members of our Koolyanobbing team came out to surprise Scott on his walk and help cheer him on. Even though we kept to strict social distancing protocols, we were able to offer him plenty of encouragement and an added boost of energy!
Due to the pandemic, Scott did not expect people to come out and support him or to receive a donation, which made it even more special to be there to show our support and present him with a cheque for $2,500 for Telethon. All money raised by Scott goes directly towards Telethon, supporting a great cause.

Scott made it to the finish line in 6 hours and 38 minutes, which was 22 minutes quicker than last year! This was an awesome feat, especially as his training was impacted by gym closures due to the pandemic. He even mustered the energy to run the last 600 metres, which is a testament to his incredible spirit.
